Gripping Tech and Outdoor Gear: Grip Ties by Nite Ize
1
I say tech and outdoor gear because this great product is one that sits well in both realms. I stumbled upon these at a local sporting goods store and thought I’d try them out.
The small grip ties are advertised for use in keeping headphones wound up nicely. I always get frustrated trying to wind up my headphones to prevent tangled wires. Although Bluetooth wireless technology is eliminating the need for wires and cords, there is still a need since wireless is not completely reliable, and bluetooth connections drain battery power.
I have used them the past few months while transporting my iPhone headphones to work. I also have used them on two recent vacations. It has been nice to keep the headphone wire organized and out of the way. I use it for my iPad and iPod charging cables as well. It’s nice to not have the cables strung throughout the car. Here’s some photos of the grip ties in action.
I also tried the larger grip ties for tying up my camping pad. They work great and are much safer than a bungee cord. No threat of it snapping back and causing injury, as recently experienced by a friend of mine.
I highly recommend the Nite Ize grip ties to help reduce frustrations from tangled headphone wires and charging cables. They are also a great option for securing cables in your home entertainment center or office.
They have a variety of colors to suit your style or mood. You can buy various sizes depending on your use as well. Click the images for more information and to read customer reviews on Amazon.

These things seem awesome. I’ll have to give them a try. I never thought of them replacing a bungee. Good idea.
