0Apa Sherpa Foundation Fundraiser Dinner Supporting Ghat School in Nepal
The Apa Sherpa Foundation is hosting a fundraising dinner on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Westgate Park City Resort in Park City, Utah to raise funds for continued teacher support and a school lunch program for the remote Ghat School in Nepal. Thule joins in the efforts with the foundation.
The Apa Sherpa Foundation has a mission to empower individuals throughout the world to follow the example of “Tiger of the Himalaya”, Apa Sherpa. Apa Sherpa is known for being the record holder of successful summits on Mount Everest, but you’ll never hear him boasting of his incredible achievements. He is one of the most humble and genuine individuals you could ever meet. Born in poverty, Apa struggled a great deal for a modest education in his youth while working hard to provide for his family in difficult economic circumstances. The Apa Sherpa Foundation strives to strengthen individuals where they live by educating them, promote economic opportunities of qualified individuals through community-generated projects, and perpetuate knowledge through experienced individuals.
Mark Eaton will be the Master of Ceremony for the fundraising dinner that begins at 5:30 p.m. on March 10. There will be a silent auction during the fundraiser with a light dinner served. Speakers include Mount Everest summiteer Will Cross, writer Christine Taylor Butler, and board member Phil Ruggieri.
Get out and support a great cause with this fundraising dinner. If you aren’t able to attend the fundraising dinner, you can still make a donation. Tickets are available on the Apa Sherpa Foundation Web site.
