Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2017 Highlights
0Outdoor Retailer Winter Market 2017 Highlights
The 2017 Outdoor Retailer Winter Market that spanned over three days this year instead of the traditional four days, saw the familiar plaid and flannel shirts bustling through the many sections of retailers presenting their future fall/winter lines for the outdoor industry. More open space and areas for sitting were added to this year’s winter show and, as always, there were exciting new things to add to one’s never ending wish list of outdoor gear. From initiatives to save the world to the attention to detail in fabrics and technology, here are some of the highlights from the show.
Mountain Hardwear Impact Initiative
Climate change is drastically affecting not only the outdoor playground that so many of us enjoy and love but it’s also having a negative effect on surrounding flora and fauna that is vital to livelihood. The focus of the Impact Initiative is to inspire, inform and engage others to help protect the outdoors. There are many heroes among us now that are doing what they can to make a difference, encouraging others to do the same. If we want to keep having the privilege to explore the outdoors and its mysterious beauty, we have to do our part to help conserve it and spread the wealth to the future generation of outdoor enthusiasts. Visit the Rainforest Connection to see how one of these impact initiatives is making a difference.
