The HydraPak Shape-Shift Reservoir is a durable hydration-on-the-go reservoir that can take a serious beating. It has a smart design with peak performance and is currently the only reservoir on the market that is fully reversible for easy cleaning and drying.
The Shape-Shift Reservoir has a center baffle that allows you to lock for a slim profile and increased stability (this also reduces sloshing), or you can unlock it for full volume. It is easy to open with a patented wide Slide-Seal Top which allows for fast filling and a leak-proof seal. Other features include a silicone Blaster Bite Valve which is the best performing valve in the industry with the highest water flow in the market. The bite valve also comes with a twist locking shut-off as well as an easy on/off dust cover.
- The Shape-Shift Reservoir fit great in all of the different packs I carried it in from a small 6L biking pack to a larger 52L hiking pack.
- The Slide-Seal Top is definitely a favorite feature with the ease of opening and closing the reservoir.
- The center baffle lock was convenient in the smaller pack when more room was needed for necessities in the pack. The bite valve worked fantastically, and the water flow was nice and easy.
- Cleaning and drying the reservoir is one of the best features as well with the fact that it’s fully reversible which makes for a thorough wash and dry.
Gripes
- The only thing that wasn’t much of an issue is keeping the top of the reservoir open with one hand while filling it up with water or other hydration.
- If one side slips out of your hand, it closes right up and your hydration spills all over. I was really only having grip issues after a full day of downhill mountain biking and climbing then trying to refill my reservoir without shaky hands to finish out the day.

It’s easy to use, packable, and giving it a thorough cleaning is a cinch which is important to avoid it becoming germ-infested.
