Gripping Outdoor Gear: 3L CamelBak Bladder
0CamelBak Bladder
I recently took a trip down to Escalante Utah and hiked Coyote Gulch. Of course I needed a lot of water for this desert hike. I have had a CamelBak for years but the bladder finally gave out on me. I replaced it with this CamelBak Reservoir. This thing was great. I love how simple the redesigned bladder is. It features a quick release hose , a 1/4 turn large opening, and a slim profile. The quick release hose is nice because you can leave it routed through your backpack when you refill. It also makes it nice for cleaning. The 1/4 turn opening is so easy a gerbil could open it, yet it seals tight and stays shut. Do remember the old design took eight men to twist the lid off? Opening this bladder is a sinch and the huge opening makes it easy to dump in ice or to clean it. Finally, the bladder’s slim design makes it fit in your pack much better. The divider down the middle keeps the bladder from expanding too much yet still provides the same amount of water as my previous bladder. Purchasing CamelBak brand was well worth the slightly higher price of no name bladders. Check it out!
